International lager beers
For international sales, large breweries have developed a light yellow beer style called "International Lager" that has no rough edges and can therefore be marketed well globally. It is based on the bottom-fermented Pils beer style, but has a much milder aroma overall. Both the malt body and the hop flower are very subtle, and the bitterness and sweetness are also significantly reduced. International lagers are ideal thirst quenchers on hot summer days and are drunk ice cold.
