Quality, freshness and taste are what it has to be. That is the motto of the Knoblach family and a principle that you can taste in their excellent beers!
The traditional Knoblach brewery is located in Schammelsdorf in Franconia, which most beer lovers will know from the Schammelsdorf Beer Days. In Franconia, festivals are celebrated as they come along and with the highest concentration of breweries in the world, one has to hold one or two beer festivals. The Knoblachs and their beer are a highlight of the beer days year after year and an integral part of Schammelsdorf's local history.
A real family business
The Knoblach family from Schammelsdorf not only cook with love and according to Franconian recipes, the Knoblachs also brew their own beer. The Knoblach inn in Schammelsdorf has been there since 1880 and brewing has been taking place there for about that long. Today, Michael Knoblach is the resident master brewer and is putting a lot of heart and soul into training his children Elisa and Johannes to become the future managers of the inn and brewery. On the side, because the Franconian is actually responsible for the beer. The Knoblachs are closely rooted in their homeland and maintain good contact with regional suppliers and farmers. As a member of the “Siegelbetrieb Region Bamberg” campaign, they attach great importance to preserving and actively promoting the diversity of the Bamberg region. To this end, the raw materials are bought exclusively from the region wherever possible. This not only has the advantage of boosting the local economy, but is also reflected in the quality. The ingredients couldn't be fresher.
Tradition you can taste
When it comes to its beers, the Knoblach brewery places great value on the excellent quality of the raw materials as well as on compliance with the Bavarian Purity Law. Classics such as lager or a light summer beer are brewed according to old Franconian recipes. There is no frills in the kettle here; the Knoblachs' honest beers are made from water, hops, malt and yeast. In addition to their brewery, the family runs a small distillery. Here, Michael Knoblach conjures up liqueur specialties from local orchards, some of which are even grown on the family's own farm.
We appreciate the Knoblachs' beers for their down-to-earth character and masterfully composed taste!
