Huppendorfer Bier

If you order a “Huppi” in Franconia, every innkeeper will know immediately. The Huppendorfer beer from the Grasser brewery is known and popular far beyond the borders of Königsfeld. The family business has been supplying beer-thirsty Franconians with their down-to-earth beers for more than 250 years. After all, a Huppi tastes good on every occasion!

From franc for franc

The Grasser family has passed the brewery on from generation to generation since 1750. But the Grassers' values and traditions were also passed on with the brewery. The fact that the business remains in family hands even after 250 years is very important to the Grassers. And also the associated size of the company: The brewery could be sold to a corporation and Huppendorfer beer could become an export hit all over the world, but the Grassers don't want that. The Grasser brewery is a family business and should remain so. But that is by no means the only principle that the Huppendorfers follow. In order to meet the increasing quality demands, the plant in Huppendorf has been completely modernized. New tanks, a wood chip heating system, a photovoltaic system and energy-saving motors ensure that Huppendorfer beer is brewed as sustainably and environmentally friendly as possible while retaining the good, well-known and proven taste. A special seal of quality that the brewery bears is the title of Solar Beer. Solar beers are brewed exclusively using renewable energy and are sustainable thanks to environmental and resource conservation. The certificate is verified by the Technical University of Munich-Weihenstephan and is a protected label that the Huppendorfers can be proud of.

Franconian through and through

We already know that Huppendorfer beer is brewed in Franconia. The following facts show that there is also a lot of Franconia in this good beer. The Grassers are proud of their wood chip plant and affectionately call their energy supply "Jura Oil". Of course, this is not really oil, but wood chips that are obtained from the Grasser family's own forest and from the forests of local farmers. The sun that supplies the photovoltaic systems with juice is not Franconian per se, but it is nevertheless a commendable contribution to environmental protection. And the ingredients that go into the beer are also regional. The water comes from the dry valley between Laibarös and Heroldsmühle, the barley from local farmers and the hops from Hallertau and Spalt. Beers like Vollbier are brewed with the full power of Franconia. It is a classic in the Bamberg area and is the perfect Franconian lager.

But it tastes good outside of Franconia too, I promise!
