Nina Anika Klotz

Nina is our hop heroine - in the truest sense of the word, because the freelance journalist and beer sommelier is the founder of Germany's leading digital craft beer magazine "Hopfenhelden". In Nina's universe, everything revolves around beer. Not boring, monotonous, conventional beer, but rather extraordinary, special, creative and wild beers. In short, craft beer.

For the love of beer

As a native of Bavaria, Nina's love of beer was practically instilled in her from birth. She traditionally liked what her homeland had to offer, namely Helles and wheat beer. But then the first craft beer came into her life: an IPA. Since then, the craft beer hype has infected Nina and she predicted that the movement would have a great response in the beer country of Germany. Craft beer is becoming increasingly popular in Germany and Nina is making a significant contribution to this. With a lot of enthusiasm, expertise and attention to detail, she imparts beer knowledge, asks exciting questions and talks to brewers who are anything but normal. Nina tells the stories behind beer and gives us an insight into the fascinating world of beer far away from large breweries and pubs.

99x Craft Beer. The best beers you have to try

In recent years, Europe's beer scene has undergone a huge change: the few beer styles that brewers once concentrated on have gained company. Pils, Bock and Lager have been joined by many more of the world's 120 or so beer styles, and Germany's beer landscape has also become more colorful. Choosing the right beer has naturally become more complicated as the range has grown. You can't try them all, especially because many of the craft beers have a higher alcohol content and are actually meant to be enjoyed consciously rather than downed. With her book " 99x Craft Beer. The best beers you have to try, " Nina gives us exactly what we need to get an overview of the craft beer jungle. On 192 pages, she introduces us to her favorite beers for every situation and the brewers behind them. We read funny anecdotes, turbulent brewery stories and wise words from young and old brewers. Nina's work is a fabulous overview of the burgeoning craft beer landscape and is an entertaining read that will leave you thirsty for more.
