What do heavy metal and unicorns have in common? Robinsons! The British brewery combines two things that don't seem to fit together. Feminine mythical creatures and hard-hitting music - a dream team!
Robinsons Brewery is an institution in British brewing history. With a brewing history spanning almost 200 years, Robinsons is one of England's most venerable, traditional breweries. Their beers speak of craftsmanship and great expertise and are not without reason known and loved far beyond the borders of Great Britain. The unicorn in the Robinsons label goes back to the very first pub that founder William Robinson bought in 1838. The "Unicorn Inn" forms the cornerstone of the Robinson empire, which today operates more than 250 pubs and is still family-run. With a great passion for good beer and the joy of being a host, the Robinsons built up their company and brew excellent beer that has already won numerous international awards.
In addition to the numerous delicious ales, the highlight of the Robinsons Brewery range is definitely the beers that were created in collaboration with the band Iron Maiden. The band and brewery have a long-standing collaboration that has already produced a number of excellent beers. For more than 40 years, the heavy metal legends have thrilled the black masses with their uncompromising music. Iron Maiden is one of the most popular bands in the genre and has long had cult status. Their own beer seems to be the next logical step, which was taken together with the Robinsons Brewery. The concept and taste of the beer come from the band's musicians, and it was brewed by hand by the brewmasters at Robinsons. The person primarily responsible for the beer was lead singer Bruce Dickinson, who is himself a passionate beer drinker. The name Trooper goes back to the Iron Maiden song of the same name, which is about the death ride of the Light Brigade in the Battle of Balakawa. There are countless legends surrounding this eventful battle, writers have written poems about it, and it is also the subject of fine art and films. Iron Maiden dealt with the subject in a gripping song text that describes the fate of a soldier who loses his life in the death ride of the Light Brigade. In true heavy metal band style, it is brutal.
Hard stuff, best overcome with a cold sip of Trooper beer.
Enjoy!
