Tanker
Anyone who has underestimated the Baltics when it comes to craft beer should definitely open a bottle of beer from Tanker. The guys from Estonia are shaking up the craft beer scene with fabulous beers and creative creations. Who else comes up with ideas like Sauna Session, a beer that perfectly captures the sauna feeling including birch branch treatment?
Homebrewer meets craft brewer
What began as a hobby quickly developed into a box office hit: the three guys behind the Tanker Brewery from Estonia started out very small. The first batches were conjured up and the first beer brewed in Jaani's garage. It was so good that a horde of friends soon gathered around them, just waiting for the next beer to be ready. At a home brewers' meeting, Jaanis and Ryan found the solution to their problem in the form of Ants, who already had a label, Tanker, and had had his first brewing experience as a traveling brewer. The dream team was complete and the guys didn't waste any time: within a few months they found a location, set up their brewing system and were given their brewing license in April 2015. In the summer they realized again that their beer was simply too good and their system too small for the huge demand. They expanded and, in addition to the new kettles, also bought a bottling plant. Equipped like this, they were able to cope with the onslaught and concentrate fully on producing fantastic beers like
Father Midnight . This Russian Imperial Stout was created with
Sakiškių alus , a small, fine brewery from the neighboring state of Lithuania.
pure nature
Anyone who thinks that fancy beers automatically require flashy, artificial ingredients is mistaken. At Tanker, only natural, carefully selected raw materials go into the kettle. These ingredients are balanced until the perfect recipe emerges. Ryan, Ants and Jaanis are not afraid to experiment wildly and take risks. The aim is to produce refreshingly new, special beers that are simply different. With this motto in mind, Tanker also became the first brewery in Estonia to dare to brew sour beers. In order to jump directly on the burgeoning trend of sour beers, the brewers at Tanker are happy to take this risk. We are excited to see what Ryan, Ants and Jaanis come up with for us in the future!
