Bierothek GmbH is moving into a new central warehouse at its headquarters in Bamberg and is the first German craft beer wholesaler to switch completely to cold storage. Breweries will also be able to use Bierothek®’s storage and logistics services in the future.

Bamberger Bierothek GmbH, known for its specialty beer stores, has announced the move of its central warehouse to a 1,000 square meter cold store and the expansion of its range of services for craft beer brands. “At the beginning of the new year, we will permanently store our entire range in a cold storage facility at our headquarters in Bamberg at 8°C for quality reasons,” says Bierothek® founder Christian Klemenz. In this context, the nationwide craft beer retailer is also supplementing its range of German and international craft beer brands with logistical services. This means breweries can use the Bierothek® infrastructure and outsource their warehouse, picking and complete logistics to the Bierothek® in Bamberg.

The specialist retail group, which is already a leader in craft beer retail, is further expanding its expertise in the wholesale sector and is therefore the first German craft beer wholesaler whose beers are stored completely cold. From the central warehouse in Bamberg, Bierothek GmbH not only serves its current thirteen branch locations and several online shops, but also a wide network of business customers in retail and catering. In addition to some international craft beer breweries, which are exclusively imported, the Bierothek® also works closely with selected German brands as part of its partner brand program.
