Belgian beer is a delicacy that has become increasingly popular in recent years. The specialties of our neighbors are characterized by their slightly higher alcohol content, the fine flavor and the soft sweetness. Sugar or rock candy is often added to the beer during the brewing process. This extra ingredient not only rounds off the taste, but also helps the yeast with its work, which usually takes place in two rounds. One fermentation takes place in the tank, the second in the bottle. This double fermentation results in a little extra alcohol and an even deeper and more complex taste.

Many breweries indicate on their website or directly on the labels that their brews should be consumed properly. In contrast to many other beers, Belgian variants are often drunk a little warmer: At higher temperatures, the aromas are presented in their entirety and you can enjoy the full range.

In addition to the right drinking temperature, the glass also plays a role: wide, bulbous glasses not only look good, they also give the beer plenty of room to develop. The Belgian brewery St. Feuillien offers a wide range of different glasses, including a goblet with a slender stem and enough space for taste.
