What do the hippies of Goa like to drink most? Anyone who thinks of kombucha is probably right, but Kingfisher beer is also very popular with the dancing mob. And not just at the infamous Psy Trans parties on the wild coast of India, but far beyond the country's borders and the continent.

India's bird of paradise

The brewery, which has the iridescent kingfisher in its emblem, was founded together with five other breweries in the United Breweries network in 1915. As early as 1974, Kingfisher's beer was exported to the Middle East, and from 1982 also to the USA and Great Britain. The brewery can look back on an eventful history with numerous takeovers and mergers. However, the turbulent times mainly took place in the management ranks. The fine beer and recipes were largely untouched by this change. Regardless of any leadership changes, Kingfisher brews crowd favorites like the Premium Lager and their sparkling Radler. And the kingfisher watches over everything with its bright blue wings.

The Good Times

Kingfisher doesn't just market beer, but an entire attitude to life. The brewery not only provides us with good beer, it also sponsors festivals and sporting events. Kingfisher's Sunburn Festival, for example, is one of Asia's biggest festivals with electro beats and a lineup that's impressive. In addition to dance events, Kingfisher also supports sports clubs: cricket teams, Formula 1 drivers, jockeys, mountaineers and footballers are among the lucky ones that Kingfisher sponsors. Kingfisher also wants to convey a feeling with the beer: freedom, summer, exuberance and community resonate in the brewery's colorful advertising campaigns. Everyone who buys a Kingfisher should also feel the Kingfisher feeling.

Whether this is also the case when you pop the bottle caps in rainy Germany remains to be seen. But it's definitely worth a try!
