The traditional Krug brewery is located in the heart of picturesque Franconian Switzerland between dense forests, extensive fields and wondrous rock formations. We have been brewing here with heart and passion since 1834. The Krug family still owns the brewery today and personally ensures that everything runs smoothly. In keeping with Franconian tradition, there is not only a brewery here, but also a rustic inn and a dance hall where people regularly dance and throw one or two wild parties. The brewery is located in idyllic Breitenlesau. Majestic hills with lush forests and rocky pinnacles that are thousands of years old alternate with gentle valleys. The happily babbling Wiesent meanders through lush meadows and, in addition to the crystal-clear, ice-cold water, also carries trout and the now rare crayfish. Numerous hiking and cycling trails run through this natural paradise and attract people from near and far to relax in the green. In the middle of this magical setting is the brewery and the attached beer garden, which invites you to take a leisurely break after a hike or bike ride with a hearty snack and a mug of delicious beer.
But even from far away people appreciate the good beer from the Franconian family brewery Krug. The Krugs' fans stretch across the globe and, according to the brewery, can now be found as far away as Denmark, Italy and Russia. The down-to-earth, warm-hearted Krug family has run the brewery for three generations and has worked hard to earn its good reputation. Beers like their annual seasonal Festbier speak for themselves and spread the word about the Krug family's excellent beer around the world.
