The journey begins in 1786 when John Molson, at the tender age of 18, sets off on the arduous journey from England to Canada. The ship has a leak and the arrival in the new world is threatened, but it arrives that same year and John founds the Molson Brewery in his new home. According to the brewery's own information, Molson is the oldest brewery in North America and Canada's second oldest brewery. The Molson Brewery grew and prospered over the following decades and John made a good name for his beer. However, that is not enough for the innovative Englishman. When he realized in 1821 that Montreal's only hospital had a meager number of just 30 beds, he initiated the construction of a new hospital. Thanks to his determined efforts, the new hospital was able to open in May of the same year. But John's commitment doesn't end there. In order to connect Canada's residents across the country's vast distances, the brewery owner is supporting the expansion of the railway line. The achievements of the tireless John Molson and his descendants also include a contribution to Canadian banking, the introduction of the deposit system, sponsorship of various sports clubs and events and the founding of the Red Leaf Project, which is dedicated to the reforestation and preservation of the Canadian Nature sets in.
Despite all its social commitment, Molson Brewery has never forgotten one thing: its beer. Over the past two centuries, the company's brewers have worked with discipline and passion on the quality and taste of their brewed products and have received numerous prizes and awards for their efforts over the years.
