Like many German cities, Münster used to have many breweries. In the past, the city had almost 100 breweries that supplied the people of Münster with the finest beer. There were beer styles that were unique to the city and a large number of brewers who contributed their two cents to Münster's beer culture every day. Today, the number has shrunk to five breweries. The team at the Finne Brewery could no longer tolerate this miserable state of affairs, so they took matters into their own hands and started their own business.
Truly Münsterian!
Finne has been enriching Münster with handmade beer since 2016 and is making a valuable contribution to the culinary culture of their home town. The name of the brewery is based on an old secret language of the people of Münster. Masematte was a kind of local colloquial language with around 500 words of its own, which were derived from Yiddish and all sorts of other linguistic directions. If you wanted to order a beer in this dialect, you asked for a Finne. By choosing this name, Florian Böckermann and Frank Sibbing are building on the rich beer culture of their city and continuing it in a modern, contemporary way. With its beer, the team wants to take responsibility and put their passion for sustainability into practice. All raw materials for the brewery come from controlled organic farming. Ingredients of this kind are good for the environment, good for health and good for the conscience. In addition, the brewery is also committed to responsible enjoyment. For Flo, Frank and their staff, beer is not a cheap high, but a culinary delight that is celebrated with the right food and at the right moment. Their beer is therefore created with the utmost care.
On behalf of good beer
With their brewing pieces, Finne advocates the spread of good beer. Because wine and fine spirits still have a better reputation, they want to give the barley juice a new reputation with sophistication and taste. The range consists of a series of subtly composed beer specialties that are brewed in small batches. In order to be as close to nature as possible, not only organic raw materials are used, the brewery also avoids filtration and the use of artificial additives. In addition to classics from the region, Finne brews seasonal delicacies, craft beer and collaboration brews with other breweries and unconventional partners such as the Allwetter-Zoo Münster. Sustainability, enjoyment and creativity are the cornerstones of the work at Finne and elements of every single creation.
