As Dr. When Thomas Tyrell left his managerial position in the German branch of an internationally successful brewery, he had big things in mind. And that doesn't just mean the large bottles into which he puts his beer.
A beery life's work
Long before Thomas went to Dr. Thomas Tyrell was already a passionate beer lover. Young Thomas decided at the peak of his youth that beer would one day be his life. He learned the craft of brewing and, after successfully completing his training, went to Walz for a whopping ten years. His years of travel took him to new continents and new ideas. He gained a wealth of experience in a wide variety of breweries, visited distant countries and brewed everything he could. At the same time, the hard-working brewer also studied and completed his studies as a brewing engineer at the TU Berlin when he completed his rolling. His further path took him to the Berlin Brewery Research and Training Institute, where he worked in a variety of functions. After earning his doctorate in engineering in 2014, the busy brewer joined the ambitious team at Stone Brewing to set up and manage their location in Berlin. Dr. Thomas Tyrell created a number of infamous beers and was responsible for many of the legendary collaborations. After years of successful collaboration, the biggest coup of his career to date followed: the step into self-employment. Dr. Thomas Tyrell broke away from the shackles of contract brewing and decided to do his own thing. The BrauKunstAtelier saw the light of day and has been Tyrell's refuge ever since to give free rein to his wild ideas.
Opulence in champagne bottles
Since 2020, the most wondrous beers have been created under the roof of the Börnicke estate, which belongs to the Bernauer brewing cooperative. Dr. Thomas Tyrell is committed to brewing top-class beers. Using hand-picked raw materials (some of which can even be read literally, as the brewer has already picked his own hops) of outstanding quality, the experienced brewer brews beers that are something special even in the world of unusual craft beers. All beers from the BrauKunstAtelier are bottled in champagne bottles and are characterized by their lushness. Tyrell doesn't skimp on the alcohol content or the taste. His creations are aromatic, complex masterpieces that the brewer encourages his customers to undergo additional maturation. The beer specialties in the elegant bottles get better and better over time: they become more complex, even more complex and full-bodied. The brewer recommends that anyone who is now in a dilemma should buy two bottles at the same time. One for curiosity and one for the cellar.
For every bottle sold, the BrauKunstAtelier donates one euro to the projects of the Quartiermeister association.
