Normally “dat delicious Dröppke” is only available in the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia. We don't care, because we have the legendary products from the Uerige Brewery. Legendary because the entire craft brewing process right down to bottling takes place under the roof of the most famous brewery in Düsseldorf - this is a rarity in the Rhine metropolis today.
The soul of Düsseldorf
What is their Schlenkerla for the people of Bamberg is the Uerige for the people of Düsseldorf and their visitors. It seems as if all life takes place in the downstairs rooms and in front of the brewery. The fact that the Düsseldorf brewery is an institution is not only proven by the countless newspaper articles and its popularity among German celebrities. The beer from the home brewery is not only drunk in Düsseldorf: Uerige is now known all over the world and is shipped over thousands of kilometers. In order to ensure the excellent quality of the beer, the Uerige Doppelsticke was developed especially for export. This beer has more revolutions than the others and the alcohol it contains ensures optimal preservation of the full aroma. The sanctuary of the Uerige brewery is the regionally typical Altbier. Brewed with cone hops, refined with specially bred yeast, and then rounded off with caramel and roasted malt, Altbier has long been known beyond the state borders of North Rhine-Westphalia.
You can't get any more crafty than that
As a traditional brewery with centuries of brewing experience, the brewers at Uerige are relaxed about the emerging craft beer movement in Germany and the international beer scene. Anyone who thinks that the long-established brewers will be intimidated or even unsettled by the young, hip competition is seriously mistaken. Chef Michael Schnitzler, who is affectionately known as Baas in the brewery, thinks that the young people should learn a lesson from them. He invites all newcomers to the business to learn from him at the Uerige Brauhaus what craft beer actually is. Handcrafted, honest beer that uses natural ingredients and perceives the purity law as a seal of quality and not as a disruptive restriction. Despite all the tradition, the guys and girls behind Uerige are not at all from yesterday: In addition to their classic range, Uerige offers draft brews, hard liquor and beers that were created in collaboration brews with young, hip and exceptionally good craft brewers.
Fruity and sparkling, alcohol-free and fairly high-proof, classic and modern - it's amazing what these Düsseldorfers can do!
