The tradition of brewing New Year's Eve has its origins in the Middle Ages. At that time, in many regions it was forbidden to brew beer from April 23rd to September 29th, as the summer temperatures were not conducive to the beer and there were no cooling facilities for these months yet. In order to say goodbye to the annual brewing break, brewing New Year's Eve was celebrated on September 30th and the new brewing year began.
