Of course, the Camba brewery also has a real Bavarian light in its range. The Helle is one of the most popular beers in Bavaria, not least because, thanks to its malty and spicy aroma, it goes wonderfully with the down-to-earth, hearty cuisine of the state. Cambas Helles is a full-bodied representative of its kind with a tasty 5.0% alcohol content and not only tastes good to Bavarians: the golden beer thrilled the jurors in the World Beer Awards 2019 and won a bronze medal.
The amber-colored beer has a stately crown of snow-white foam on its yeast-clouded body and smells seductively of light malt, freshly baked bread and grain. The initial taste reveals a light-footed beer with a full-bodied aroma. On the palate, soft malt meets notes of freshly baked biscuits, sun-ripened grain, gently melting caramel and a nice flavor. Fine notes of green apples and clippings represent the hops, which also conjure up a dry bitterness in the finish. The finish is otherwise malty.
For this delicious classic, we recommend a good middle-class snack: We think of crispy stone-baked bread, fresh butter, spicy cheese, hearty mustard and maybe a pickle. The light harmonizes wonderfully with the hearty notes of the snack and rounds off the simple meal perfectly.
