The Förster used to be an important part of beer production. All cauldrons and pans had to be operated with a wood fire and the malt was also dried over a crackling fire. The forester was responsible for the health of the forest and the constant supply of good firewood: he tended the tree population and ensured the supply of wood for breweries and everyone else through his switching and handling.
Today, the heat is no longer generated by wood fires. The electricity comes from the socket and the malt is no longer kilned in-house. However, the foresters are still responsible for the well-being and continued existence of our forests. In their honor, the Gampertbräu has chosen a forester as its figurehead. On the labels there is a gentleman dressed in forest green with a magnificent beard and a pipe. In his hand he has a tankard of golden beer. All Gampert creations are named after him, including the Förster March.
This traditional Franconian brew pours into the glass in gleaming gold and, in addition to a full 5.5% alcohol content, brings a full-bodied body and strong aromas to the table. The tasty drop tastes of oven-fresh bread, creamy blossom honey, roasted malt and robust grain. A subtle bitterness and a subtle fruitiness complete the thing.
