The light Weizenbock is brewed especially for the cold season. Full-bodied and strong, the rich beer warms you up even on the coldest of winter days and is really fun. The top-fermented wheat is fermented in the bottle and enchants with a diverse range of flavors. The craft beer is made from hand-picked, regional ingredients and the brewery's own yeast strain.
The Weizenbock from Gutmann flows into the glass in a wonderfully strong amber color and forms an impressive head of fine-pored, white foam. A haze typical of wheat permeates the beer and is evidence of the generous use of the yeast bred especially for this beer. But the yeast is not only noticeable visually: when poured, the beer exudes a wonderfully delicate scent of spicy yeast. The smell of fresh yeast dough and homemade banana bread joins us. A light touch of hops brings the aroma of freshly mown grass into play and completes the first impression. The initial taste reveals wheat with a voluminous body, lively carbon dioxide and a creamy mouthfeel. On the tongue, the Weizenbock initially presents itself as malty: large yeast notes meet the creamy sweetness of ripe bananas, and the aroma of freshly baked bread is added. The hops follow on the heels and give the bock a fine citrus note and the green aroma of mown grass. A hint of clove complements the play of aromas. The finish shows a soft sweetness balanced by a subtle bitterness.
