The Weiherer Lager from Kundmüller is an absolute classic. Fresh and Franconian, it enjoys a large fan base and, with its tasty style, actually goes well with everything. So it’s no wonder that the beer has already won several prestigious awards.
The slim Franconian flows into the glass in a sunny gold tone and adorns himself with a stately crown of snow-white, airy, light foam. The beer, which is made with solar power, shines like the sun and smells of sun-kissed grain. Strong malt also dominates the initial taste before the hops are added and give the aromas a good portion of freshness. The malty notes of yeasty bread dough and grain are joined by aromas of tangy citrus fruits, spicy herbs, freshly mown grass and white pepper. A pleasant bitter compliments the play of aromas and increases towards the finish to a crisp note. The Weiherer Lager is a well-balanced classic that venerably represents the Franconian art of brewing.
We like to drink the lager in the cellar, but it also tastes great with poultry. Our favorite: fried chicken marinated in rosemary oil and served with a salade niçoise with tomatoes, olives, young potatoes, green beans and hard-boiled eggs. A well-tempered Weiherer camp and the evening is perfect!
