Kölsch is Reissdorf.
The Reissdorf brewery has specialized in Kölsch and has mastered the subject to perfection. The good Kölsch has been brewed here since 1894 and is popular not only in Cologne but all over the world.
The Kölsch from Reissdorf flows into the glass in a crystal-clear gold tone and forms a wonderful contrast with the stately, white head of foam. From the airy, light foam, a seductive scent of roasted grain, sun-dried straw, oven-fresh bread and delicate lemon rises to the nose. The initial taste reveals a beer with a medium body, pleasant carbonation and a cornucopia of delicious flavor nuances. The first sip immediately shows what’s in the Kölsch: A soft, subtly caramel malt base brings with it notes of crispy bread crust and creamy forest honey, a light citrus note and a hint of spicy yeast complement the play of aromas. The taste is clean, crisp and balanced. The hops contribute delicate aromas of freshly mown grass and green herbs, and a fine bitterness accompanies the drinking pleasure. Towards the finish the Kölsch becomes nice and dry. If you compare it with the Kölsch from other breweries, Reissdorf’s Kölsch stands out positively due to its depth of flavor and great balance.
Typically, Kölsch is drunk from small Kölsch glasses, but it also tastes good directly from the bottle or from any other glass. The main thing is Kölsch!
