Named after a god of fire and flames, the dark Bock Ator 20 from the Riegele brewery delights with wonderfully full-bodied roasted notes and a strong character.
The strong malt body matures to its full splendor during a cold primary fermentation and subsequent cold storage. Three different types of malt ensure the incomparably soft, round malt taste, the two farm varieties Hallertauer Perle and Opal skilfully balance the malty power. The 7.5% alcohol content crowns the enjoyment experience.
Ator 20 flows into the glass in the color of autumnal chestnuts and shimmers wonderfully mahogany. A creamy, slightly tinted foam crowns the beer and is fed by the lively carbon dioxide with countless small pearls. From the stately head of foam, a wonderfully strong scent of fine roasted malt and creamy caramel rises to the nose. The initial taste reveals a voluminous body with dark aromas and character. Multifaceted roasted aromas caress the palate with notes of Turkish mocha, delicately melting dark chocolate, dried red fruits and roasted malt. A hint of licorice and notes of rum-soaked raisins round off the aromatics.
We particularly like the dark Bock Ator 20 from Riegele in combination with strong game dishes such as venison goulash or saddle of venison. Plus homemade bread dumplings with lots of parsley, a red wine shallot sauce and some cranberry jam - perfect!
