Strong pleasure.
Rubustus 6 is another highlight in the wide range of Riegele BierManufaktur. The 6 in the name comes from the six different types of malt that were used to make the dark beer. The Pale Chocolate Malt and the Dark Chocolate Malt are particularly worth mentioning as they give the beer its wonderfully strong chocolate note and the seductive color of fine dark chocolate. Another special feature is the Irish ale yeast with which the dark beer is fermented. It conjures up additional flavor in the beer and makes the English porter even more authentic.
Rubustus 6 flows into the glass in an opaque mahogany tone and is crowned by a creamy, slightly tinted foam. A strong aroma of dark roasted malt rises to the nose from the fine-pored foam. Together with a fine chocolate note, a touch of cocoa and the scent of freshly roasted coffee beans, this creates a tempting mixture. The initial taste reveals the voluminous body and the creamy, soft viscosity of the porter. The full-bodied aroma of dark roasted malt caresses the palate and is complemented by cocoa, melt-in-the-mouth chocolate, freshly brewed coffee and dried red fruits. A grassy hint of hops completes the aromatics. The finish is soft, dry and carries a subtle acidity reminiscent of filter coffee.
The porter from Riegele is a creamy, velvety-smooth beer that tastes wonderfully rich and full-bodied. Almost a full-fledged dessert, just less sweet.
