There is a clever idea behind the Craftmayer series from Rittmayer: The brewers and master brewers of the Franconian brewery can really let off steam and the results of the wild experimentation are then sold as a limited special brew.
Typically, breweries have a fixed range of beer types and styles. From time to time copies are sorted out and new beers are added, but long-established private breweries in particular often have a selection of well-known and popular beers. So does the Rittmayer brewery: The Hallerndorf brewery has a fixed repertoire of beers and seasonal specialties. In addition to this selection, there are a number of craft beers and the Craftmayer series. The latter gives the brewers the opportunity to try out new recipes, raw materials and techniques and to let their creativity run free. Although the previous Craftmayer specimens are all within the scope of the purity law, the styles, hops and malt types vary. There was already a whole range of different beers, the current Craftmayer is an amber Märzen.
The copper-colored beer is adorned with an almond-colored crown made of dense, fine-pored foam. In terms of taste, the malty beer delights with fine roasted aromas and a hint of smoke. Soft aromas of gently melting caramel and toasted nuts caress the palate, large notes of freshly baked bread and a variety of malts create the stable character.
