In addition to the popular evergreens Herbipolis and Meekuh, the SMaSH Brewing Project has a new highlight in its range. Roentgen is an amber lager and, like all beers from SMaSH, is brewed with just one type of hop and one type of malt. Anyone who thinks that only monotonous beers can come out of this doesn't know Chris Sullivan! The American brewer is a true hop wizard and knows how to choose just the right malt to brew a wonderfully complex, flavorful beer.
Roentgen flows into the glass in a copper-red amber tone and forms an impressive head of foam. A tempting combination of caramel malt scent and hoppy notes of red berries rises from the beige fluff. A touch of pine resin gives the scent a nice spice. When drunk, the Amber Lager initially presents itself as hoppy. Tangy citrus notes meet tart grapefruit, raisins and pine resin are added. The malt comes in later and gives the hoppy mixture a soft, caramel base. In the finish, Röntgen delights with its dryness and the beautiful, bitter hop note.
Roentgen is a subtly composed lager that knows how to delight with just one type of hop and malt.
