Dietrich, on the other hand, is a Berliner Weisse from the Schneeeule house and enchants with heavenly taste and wonderful refreshment. Dietrich’s base is Marlene . That sounds like a pun, but it is like this: The Original Berliner Weisse Marlene becomes Dietrich through storage. The fine Weisse Marlene is bottled after completion and is then allowed to continue fermenting in the bottles for a whole year. Special yeasts and lactic acid bacteria perform their wondrous work during this time and give the beer its sparkling, feather-light character.
Dietrich is presented in a sunny straw yellow and shimmers wonderfully golden when the light falls. A crown of airy, light foam sits on the cloudy beer and it exudes a fine scent of creamy banana milkshake, light wine vinegar and delicate elderflower. The first drink reveals Dietrich’s light-footed body. The sparkling carbon dioxide makes the aromas dance on the tongue and delights the palate with notes of ripe mirabelle plums, sour natural yoghurt, white grapes, tangy lime and floral hops.
