Anni from Flügge is a pale ale that is fermented with the Norwegian yeast variety Kveik. Kveik is the Norwegian term for yeast and is an absolute trend in the craft beer business. What was previously quietly and secretly passed on from generation to generation of brewers in Norway has reached the craft beer market and is causing a sensation there. The guys behind the Flügge label are known for their love of experimentation and are also recognized yeast specialists. The brewers who usually tame wild yeasts for their beers are also really good with Norwegian yeast.
Anni is a yeasty pale ale that delights with its fruity opulence. The light beer flows into the glass in a cloudy, slightly pale sunny yellow and forms a persistent head of foam. A whole basket of fruity aromas rises from the foamy, white fluff. Tangy lime zest combines with candied orange peel and ripe banana to create a tempting potpourri. The initial taste is fruity and sweet and at the same time reveals a nice fruit acidity, which is accompanied by a touch of spice. Grainy malt forms a nice base for the fruit bouquet. The finish is dry and delights with notes of white pepper, pine resin, citrus and hoppy herbs.
Anni is absolutely recommended for all fans of yeasty ales. We particularly like Anni with homemade burgers. A thick, fiery grilled patty with an oven-fresh brioche bun, caramelized onions, a generous portion of Dijon mustard and homemade fries - perfect!
