The Schinner Brewery complements our wide range of festive seasonal beers with an unexcited Franconian delicacy: Festival beers are often voluminous creations with a strong sweetness, a variety of winter spices and a powerful character. The artisanal winter beer from the Bayreuth brewery, on the other hand, scores with the directness and firmness of the Franconians.
The seasonal beer specialty is already brewed in late summer so that it can mature to its full glory in autumn in the cool cellars of the brewery. Good things take time, and this proves to be true once again with this fine beer. The patient wait is rewarded with a classic winter beer, which delights with intense malt abundance, mild hops and full-bodied aromas.
The Franconian is visually appealing with its chestnut brown color, which is pervaded by a copper shimmer when the light falls. A neat crown of delicately tinted foam sits enthroned on the warm brown body, which smells temptingly of sweet malt, dried red fruits, toffee and freshly brewed coffee. The initial taste surprises with strong carbon dioxide, which makes the aromas dance on the tongue. Roasted malt covers the taste receptors like a warm blanket, strong caramel, cookies, woody notes and a touch of herbaceous hops harmonize with it. The crowning glory of the beer enjoyment is a hoppy finish that combines herbal notes with sweet malt.
