Hops don’t always have to come from distant countries, as the Vulkan brewery proves with their fine organic pale ale.
Many craft brewers use exotic hop varieties for their aroma-intensive creations. The green gold comes from the sunny slopes of the Yakima Valley, from Ethiopia or the incredibly distant island nation of New Zealand — and we have a diverse hop landscape right on our doorstep. The Hallertau, Tettnang and Spalt are the largest hop-growing areas in Germany and produce a wide variety of different hop varieties.
The Vulkan brewery from the Eifel region is proud of its use of regional raw materials and tries to avoid long transport routes as much as possible. The use of German hops is therefore obvious. For their tasty organic pale ale, they have selected a handful of different varieties and brewed them into a fine drop. The Pale Ale brings 5.6% alcohol content and a tropical-fruity hop symphony into your glass. The beer presents itself in a delicate cloudy golden orange and is adorned with a veil of fragrant foam. Olfactory and taste are characterized by a subtly composed balance of hops and malt: Soft grain caresses the palate while notes of herbs, juicy tropical fruits and an earthy bitterness tickle the tongue.
