The Hofbräu is a true institution among Munich breweries and a meeting point for beer fans from near and far. Of course, the traditional brewery is also represented at the annual Oktoberfest, although only for a little over 70 years. The Hofbräu’s now world-famous marquee tent can accommodate around 10,000 guests at maximum capacity, making it second in the Oktoberfest comparison. An incredible 600 kilograms of freshly picked hop vines adorn the inner roof year after year and focus on exactly what a marquee tent is all about: beer.

Every year, the Hofbräuhaus brews a seasonal brew for Oktoberfest, which is available from mid-July until it is drunk. The Oktoberfest beer is produced according to the specifications of the Bavarian Purity Law and is a bottom-fermented brew with a festive 6.3% alcohol content. In addition to light barley malt and Munich malt, the hops Herkules, Perle and Select go into the kettle and form a full-bodied, rounded taste.

In the beer mug, the delicacy shines in a crystal-clear sun gold with a stately crown. The Oktoberfest beer smells of mountain meadows and ripe fruit. Its taste is made up of full-bodied grain, creamy caramel and dried figs. The finish crowns the beer enjoyment with soft honey sweetness and a tangy hint of grapefruit.
