The name of this tasty pale ale does not refer to the unofficial holiday of the cannabis culture of the same name, but to the day on which the brew was brewed for the very first time. After the SweetWater Brewing Company completed its construction in early 1997, the first brew was brewed on April 20th.
To this day, the West Coast Ale-style Pale Ale remains the most popular beer in the brewery's range and has won numerous awards over the years. The two hop varieties Cascade and Centennial are responsible for the classic taste: paired with three different malts, they form a balanced taste profile that is hoppy and fresh.
SweetWaters 420 Extra Pale Ale flows into the glass with a warm, clear honey tone and is adorned with a white foam crown. The honey can also be found in the scent: together with lemony hops, pine resin and caramel malt, it fills the air and makes you want to drink. This reveals a strong body with a creamy mouthfeel. Crunchy notes of freshly squeezed citrus fruit combine with roasted malt, hints of toffee, orange zest and pine needles to create a true hop festival. A dry, grassy finish completes the beer enjoyment and awakens a thirst for another can.
