As co-founders of the American craft beer movement, the brewers at Shipyard Brewing Company are absolute experts when it comes to craft beer. The team has been producing creative, craft brewed and hoppy beers for more than 30 years and can rightly claim to have exquisite taste. With their expertise, they brew craft beers that are challenging, complex and exciting. Sometimes it’s not that easy for their customers: the palate has to get used to the enormous amount of hops in the beer and the resulting bitterness.
To accommodate the rookies among their fans, the brewery has developed an India Pale Ale that is more approachable. Monkey Fist is a beer that is smoother and easier to drink than many other IPAs. The creation scores with high drinkability and still has rough edges and character. After a few tries, the team has now found the perfect recipe: The newly conceived version combines light malt and oat flakes with three tasty hop varieties. Citra, Cascade and Mosaic contribute tropical notes of grapefruit, pineapple, mango, passion fruit and melon to the aroma play, while the sun-ripened grain forms a mild sweetness and the full-bodied body. A dry, crisp and moderately bitter finish crowns the beer enjoyment and makes you thirsty for another can.
