This fact has already become the downfall of one or two beer lovers. Nevertheless, the Duvel Belgian Speciaalbier is the perfect aperitif, because the delicate citrus aroma and the finely dry finish definitely make you want more.
The Belgian beer specialty flows into the glass in a clear gold tone and is crowned by an impressive, fine-pored foam. A fine scent of ripe stone fruits, floral hops, spicy yeast and freshly mown grass rises from the white splendor. A hint of black pepper and a gentle note of green apples complement the play of aromas and make you look forward to the first sip. The initial drink reveals a light-footed body with sparkling carbon dioxide and a fine bitterness that runs like a common thread through the entire drinking experience. On the tongue there is a slightly sweet malt base, which is accompanied by hoppy overtones. Gentle honey notes and a good portion of light and fluffy fruit dance on the tongue. The experienced palate tastes green apples, juicy pineapple, creamy banana and tangy lime. The finish is hoppy and shows grassy notes and a nice yeasty spice.
