Although Brouwerij Boon from Lembeek in Belgium is known for their excellent Gueuze , our favorite from their pen is different and that is not least because a whole truckload of freshly harvested summer fruits were used to make this special beer.
If we have our way, the highlights of summer are not the warmth, the sixteen hours of daylight, the ice cream or the visits to the outdoor pool, but rather its wonderful fruit. We love wandering around the field and picking strawberries by the basket. At the end of April we are already lying under the cherry tree and impatiently checking the ripeness of the red guys. And we have brilliant memories of wandering barefoot through grandma’s garden and visiting the lush raspberry-laden hedges. We love strawberry cake, raspberry slices, cherry jam and all sorts of other summer fruit delicacies.
And this is where the Boon brewery comes into play again, because their team conjures up a wonderful Framboise from freshly harvested raspberries and cherries, which conjures up summer in your glass even when autumn has long since arrived. The brewers use 350 grams of fruit per liter for their beer, which you can see and taste: The ruby red brew is bursting with juicy raspberry and cherry notes. Fruity, refreshing and so summery!
