The Christmas Ale from the Belgian brewery St. Bernardus is another classic in our range of festive Christmas beers. With its wintery character and cornucopia of full-bodied flavors, Christmas Ale is an absolute favorite.
The quadruple flows into the glass in a deep, dark mahogany tone and forms a fine, milk foam-like crown. A rich fruit aroma rises from the slightly tinted foam. Dried red berries meet raisins, dried plums, dark roasted malt and brown sugar on the nose. The first taste is a fruity beer with a whole range of wintery flavors. A spicy note of anise combines with velvety caramel and roasted chestnuts to create a delicious mixture, dried fruits and delicately melting chocolate complement the play of aromas. The brewery’s own yeast gives the beer an additional nice complexity. 10.0% alcohol content ensures a warmth that extends from the tongue down to the stomach and warms you from the inside out.
St. Bernardus Christmas Ale is the perfect companion for chocolaty desserts and pastries. And the spicy winter beer also goes perfectly with game dishes. For example, the Christmas Ale tastes excellent with slow-braised roast venison with Brussels sprouts and bacon, buttery mashed potatoes and a creamy red wine sauce. The elegant spice and complex structure complement the savory notes wonderfully and make Christmas dinner a real highlight.
We have the Christmas Ale in two practical sizes in our range: in the sample size 0.33l and in the stylish 0.75l format . The latter also makes an excellent gift!
