One of the few gluten-free beers on the market is Grisette Blonde Bio from St. Feuillien. The light beer is made exclusively from raw materials from organic farming. Chemical additives and processes are not used.
As with many Belgian beers, the brewers also subject Grisette to a second fermentation: When it is bottled, a small amount of sugar is added, which then triggers further fermentation. In this process, the beer gains density and flavor intensity and becomes a true beer specialty.
Grisette Blonde Bio from St. Feuillien flows into the glass in a radiant gold tone and is crowned by a beige, fine-pored foam. A bouquet of fruity and floral notes rises from the airy head of foam. On the nose, citrus notes, floral scents and spices combine to create a tempting mixture. The initial taste reveals a medium-weight body with lively, finely sparkling carbon dioxide and a full, rich mouthfeel. In terms of taste, Grisette initially presents itself as fruity: the soft, sweet aroma of ripe stone fruits spreads across the tongue and is complemented by roasted grain, spicy yeast, fresh citrus fruit and a subtle bitterness as the drink progresses. A touch of hoppy herbs complements the play of aromas.
