The Saison from St-Feuillien is a beer that is traditionally referred to as a country beer in Belgium. With its full-bodied, subtly balanced character, it represents the rich abundance of southern Belgian agriculture. The craft beer is a classic that Belgians have enjoyed for centuries as a way to end the day after a hard day’s work. At 6.5% ABV, it’s slightly milder than other Belgian beers, making it a great way to end a busy day. The skilful combination of soft malt and fresh hops also contributes to the tastyness of the Saison beer. The second fermentation in the bottle also ensures that the intensity of the aromas deepens.
St-Feuilliens Saison flows into the glass in a copper-red shimmering corn yellow and is crowned with a good amount of dense-pored, compact foam. Because the beer is unfiltered, a delicate veil runs through the strong gold. A potpourri of light malt, spicy yeast, warm spices, grapefruit and coriander fills the air. In terms of taste, the season convinces with a harmony of very similar notes: sun-ripened grain meets tangy citrus fruit, liquorice, yeast, freshly cut herbs and an appealing hint of white pepper. The aroma of creamy blossom honey skilfully rounds off the taste profile.
