The British brewery Robinsons is not only known for its excellent beers, but also for its cooperation with the music legends of the band Iron Maiden. Frontman Bruce Dickinson is an extremely talented singer with a great passion for artisan ales. That’s why he brewed his very own ale in cooperation with Robinsons Brewery.
Just in time for the scariest day of the year, there is also a limited version of the Trooper this year. A skeleton in a suit emerges from his blood-red coffin with a grim look and outstretched bony hand. The writing and ornamentation have a Mexican touch and pay homage to the Diá de los Muertos, which is celebrated around October 31st. In Mexican customs, however, the annual return of the dead is not a cause for horror, but rather the occasion for exuberant festivities. The cemeteries are lavishly decorated with flowers and people paint skulls on their faces. We celebrate the reunion with deceased friends and relatives and remember all those who have been lost. A perfect companion for the festivities is the trooper, even if the Día de los Muertos is likely only celebrated by a small group of people in the UK.
We like the trooper in a festive garb at all kinds of festivities. And the beer with the horror label also goes wonderfully with Halloween.
