The Uiltje brewery in Haarlem, the Netherlands, is known for its ability to handle large quantities of hops. The team is made up of passionate hopheads who are dedicated to the green gold and love nothing more than juggling flavorful cones. Regardless of the beer style, you can be sure that there is a generous portion of hops in every single Uiltje creation.
This also applies to the Wit from Uiltje. Normally, this Belgian beer style is more malty and gets its fruity, fresh aroma from the orange peel, which is on the ingredients list alongside water, malt, yeast and hops. The coriander seeds brewed with it provide a spicy kick. Uiltje catapults the fruitiness to the next level with the help of some aromatic hop varieties and creates an unconventional Wit that is wonderfully refreshing, brings a crisp 6.0% alcohol content to the glass and surprises with an impressive 30 bitter units.
Uiltjes Wit presents itself in the glass in a very delicate, cloudy orange gold and is crowned with a fleeting veil of white foam. Its aroma is a potpourri of light grain, freshly grated orange peel, strong yeast and a hint of coriander. Malt forms the flavor core of this brew, the leading aromas are citrus fruit, coriander, ripe banana, peach, floral hops and a little yeast.
