After more than 150 years of brewing at Moosehead Brewery, it was time for something new. The team didn’t want to completely change the tried and tested core range and offend their friends and customers, so they decided on a small but fine series of creative special brews. These special beers give the brewers the opportunity to put their craziest ideas into practice and to explore the limits of what is possible. The brews are brewed in limited numbers and are therefore called Small Batch. Each beer in the series has its own story and is characterized by its uniqueness and innovation.
Part of the series, the Small Batch Tangerine Wit is inspired by the beer styles of Belgium. The brewers wanted to create a classic Witbier and catapult the traditional style of beer into the present with modern hops and small changes in the recipe. Her interpretation is brewed with hops, yeast and a trio of malted barley, oats and wheat and finished with coriander and orange peel. Tangerine peels bring a breath of fresh air to the recipe: the zest of the juicy tropical fruit gives the beer a fruity sweetness and a sunny kick of freshness that goes wonderfully with the spiciness of the coriander and the natural tartness of the beer.
