In English, we speak of a "crush" when you have a small (or large) crush on someone. A crush is the person who wraps us around their finger with a single smile, whose intoxicating scent drives us crazy and whose radiant face paints a bright blush on our cheeks. But we can be enchanted by more than just one person; summer, a particularly juicy peach, the smell of sunscreen, a beautiful beach, a particularly cute puppy or a cool, freshly tapped beer on a dusty, dry, hot day can also send us into raptures.
The team at the Espiga brewery has an intense fascination with freshly harvested berries. The cheeky little fruits exert an almost magical attraction on the brewmasters and have inspired them to create a berry-flavored beer.
The brew is called Summer Crush and is a sour beer with a light, fluffy 4.5% alcohol content. The deep red brew is flavored with a generous amount of raspberries and blueberries and contains three different malts in addition to the Galena hops. Summer Crush flows into the glass in the color of pomegranate juice and delights the nose and palate with a skillful balance of tangy fruit acid, soft sweetness and tons of fruit notes.
A summery sour beer to fall in love with!
