We don’t have anything to do with fractions, X-functions and graphs, but this derivation from La Pirata is so tempting that even the greatest math enemy becomes curious.
We all know derivations from school: They are complicated, lengthy and you keep making miscalculations. Not much help with this, but it is absolutely delicious Second Derivative from the Spanish brewery La Pirata. The second derivative was brewed with friends from America: The juicy IPA is a collaboration between La Pirata and the Proclamation Ale Company from Warwick. The beer pays homage to Dave Witham, who founded the brewery in Rhode Island and who recently passed away. His team and the brewers from La Pirata wanted to dedicate a drink to the great founder and beer lover and have decided to use his hands-on, life-affirming manner as inspiration for their beer.
The result is Second Derivative, a 6.5% India Pale Ale brewed with the Centennial, Sabro and Enigma hops. Dave’s honorary beer flows into the glass in a wonderfully cloudy, sunny yellow and is adorned with an airy head of foam. In the nose, the IPA presents itself as hoppy and refreshingly fruity. The taste follows the olfactory first impression and inspires with notes of green hops, citrus and tropical fruits.
