All cats are black at night - does that also apply to beer?
This dark, bottom-fermented beer was named after a well-known black cat. The cute animal was written by a Czech writer and made the mice and puppets dance in a popular children's show.
Mikeš flows into the glass in a deep, dark mahogany tone and forms a fine, creamy head of foam. Tempting scents of roasted malt, soft caramel, creamy blossom honey and freshly mown grass arise from the slightly tinted foam. A hint of chocolate and the autumnal scent of ripe apples complement the aromas. On the palate, Mikeš is malty: beautiful roasted notes meet freshly brewed coffee, melt-in-the-mouth chocolate and creamy toffee on the tongue. A gentle carbonation and a velvety, smooth mouthfeel make this dark beer a real treat. The finish is hoppy, herbal and beautifully bitter.
Mikeš is the perfect accompaniment to a hearty menu. We recommend a starter with finely sliced beef carpaccio with nutty rocket, grated Parmesan shavings and a vinaigrette made from good olive oil, freshly ground black pepper and a squeeze of lemon juice. The main course includes a chicken breast stuffed with goat cheese and roasted vegetables with fresh thyme, garlic and sea salt. Mikeš rounds off the meal perfectly by pairing the beer with a homemade chocolate cake with salted caramel and pears poached in white wine. A feast for the senses!
