In Greek mythology, Prometheus is a fallen heroic figure. The Titan who was responsible for the creation of humanity and gave art and science to his flock is severely punished for his final gift to humanity. In order to give people fire, he steals it from Olympus and incurs the wrath of the gods. His punishment is harsh: he is tied to a rock and has to watch an eagle feast on his liver day after day. The organ grows back to prolong Prometheus' suffering. A true hero who deserves honor and thanks!
The Czech brewery Podlesí expresses its gratitude with an excellent pale ale. It's called Prometheus and would certainly have brightened one or two of the Titan's days.
Prometheus flows into the glass in a cloudy, golden amber tone and forms a small, white head. A wonderfully fruity aroma comes from the fine hops used for it. Tangy pomelo, pink grapefruit, juicy lemon and mandarin meet spicy hay and a hint of pine resin on the nose. Promising! When drunk, Prometheus initially presents itself as sweet and malty. But then the hops enter the stage: citrus-fresh and crisply bitter, they quickly dominate the initial malt note. The bitter note lingers into the finish and stays on the tongue for a long time.
To the point!
