Dried plums don't have a particularly good reputation: the dried fruits are associated with old people's diets and digestive problems. The Ārpus and Sibeeria breweries step into the breach for the dried plums and polish their image again with an incredibly good imperial stout.
Even though the title sounds like the opposite, One Night In Hell is a heavenly delight. The name of the beer refers less to the taste and more to the lengthy and complex production process of the fine wine. The powerful imperial stout with dried plums required a lot of attention and skill from the brewers, but in the end every effort was worth it. One Night In Hell is an intense beer specialty that impresses with its robust character, sensual scent, velvety-soft mouthfeel and a symphony of dark aromas.
The 11.7% strong drop flows into the glass in the color of freshly kilned smoked malt and also smells like it: a fine smoke aroma rises to the nose and combines with vanilla, dried plums, chocolate, brown sugar and tobacco to form an inviting mixture. If you follow your thirst for beer, you will be rewarded with a smooth culinary delight. Strong notes of delicately melting chocolate, fine cocoa, candied plums and smoky roasted malt ensnare the tongue with soft sweetness and delicately balanced bitterness.
