The Bierothek® range includes all sorts of exciting beer specialties from all over the world: we have beer from Japan, Hawaii, Estonia and countless other exotic places. Argentina is represented by the Quilmes brewery from Buenos Aires. The house specialty is the lager of the same name.
Quilmes flows into the glass in a clear, pale gold tone and forms a small, white head of foam that quickly evaporates into a fine peak. On the nose, the light beer is malty and sweet: sun-ripened grain meets oven-fresh cookies and roasted malt. The initial taste reveals a light-footed beer with lively carbon dioxide and fine malt aromas. Quilmes is crisp, fresh, subtly bitter and very drinkable, especially when sizzling under the hot Argentine sun. But this uncomplicated beer is also fun in cooler climes!
We recommend serving Quilmes at a good temperature and accompanying it with Mediterranean dishes. A briefly grilled chicken breast, for example. Served with grilled summer vegetables marinated in olive oil and fresh rosemary. A splash of lemon juice, parmesan shavings and a Quilmes from the freezer make the summer meal perfect.
Argentina's favorite summer beer tastes particularly special on hot days. But even if you really miss summer in winter, an ice-cold Quilmes can help.
