The latest addition to the hand-picked range of the Polish brewery Pinta is an Oatmeal IPA. In addition to four American aromatic hops, a good portion of oat flakes is also brewed. The flakes, together with the lactose used, ensure a heavenly, velvety mouthfeel and a fine creaminess. Some types of malt support the oats and give the beer its strong body and enticing color.
The IPA presents itself in the glass in the color of sun-kissed straw and is slightly cloudy. A generous amount of white, airy foam crowns the golden beer and exudes a seductive scent of roasted malt, freshly cut herbs, tangy lemon peel and ripe summer fruits. The initial taste reveals a full-bodied body with a creamy, almost creamy texture. The beer flows silky smooth down the throat, but first it pampers the palate and tongue with fruity excellence. Juicy pineapple meets mango, grapefruit and mandarin, a strong note of roasted malt rounds off the aromatics. The bitterness is kept within limits until the finish, only in the brilliant finale does it increase to a crisp, present note. The finish is juicy, fruity and wonderfully bitter.
Browar Pintas Express IPA is a light, flaky beer with delicious fruit notes. It is a very good introduction to the world of IPAs, as most of it is only mildly bitter, but at the same time it wonderfully represents the fruity range of IPAs.
