After the Rockmill brewers welcomed the first classic wheat beer to their range with Wheatwave, a down-to-earth Pilsner based on the traditional brewing method now follows. Feels Like Pils is a simple, unexcited and finely hopped Pilsner that has been refined with Polish and Czech hop varieties. The flavors are Sybilla, Saaz and Junga, which are still largely unknown in the craft beer world.
Rockmill’s interpretation flows into the glass in a clear, lustrous gold and is adorned with the expected magnificent, snow-white foam crown. A bouquet of freshly mown grass, light malt, woody herbs and citrus zest fills the air and makes you want to drink. The taste test brings a finely carbonated beer with a balanced bitterness to your tongue. The malt forms a smooth base that tastes of breakfast cereal and sun-ripened grain. The hops build on this with floral hints, grassy notes, herbs and lemon zest and round off the play of aromas with a moderate bitterness and a dry finish.
Thanks to its mild character and fresh aroma, Feels Like Pils goes well with fish dishes. The perfect match for a nice evening, for example, is a cool glass of pilsner with an oven-fresh baguette that has been topped with lightly whipped goat’s cheese, grated lemon zest, chopped dill, capers and a generous slice of smoked salmon.
