There are drinks that are so complex, flavorful and full-bodied that a single sip is enough to satisfy you. Beer can definitely fall into this category - especially when you consider compact, flavor-packed brews like imperial stouts, barley wines or particularly hoppy India pale ales - but we’re usually quite happy to have a whole bottle or can in front of us and not just a sip.
Doušek, created by the Polish brewery Moon Lark, is also a whole collection of delicious sips. Doušek is the Czech word for sip and was chosen as the title for this beer because the brew is a Bohemian lager. The team not only took inspiration from the Czech model in terms of style, but also chose raw materials from the Czech Republic: the malt is made from grain that grew in the Moravian region and the Saaz hops also come from Czech soil. These exquisite ingredients were carefully and calmly processed to create a crisp, fresh lager.
Doušek presents itself in a shiny gold in the glass and has a fleeting crown of white foam on the transparent body. The taste profile is made up of bready malt, green, earthy and herbal hops and a deep, straightforward bitterness. Delicious!
