At least Michalis Karanastassis, head of the stylish Mon Petit Café in Bad Cannstadt, was lucky. In honor of the eight-year existence of his neat shop, Blech.Brut has brewed a beer that perfectly matches the modern, cozy and inviting flair of the café in terms of style and taste.
Whalez Straight Outta Bottles is a powerful Triple India Pale Ale made with three types of hops and just as many malts. The juicy beer has a staggering 9.5% alcohol content. In the glass, the IPA is wonderfully cloudy: on the heavily overcast body in warm, copper-tinted amber, a stately crown of white, densely-pored foam enthrones you and invites you to take the first sip. The fine scent of tart grapefruit and tropical fruit intensifies the beguiling siren call. The first sip reveals the creamy, almost creamy texture of the beer and is reminiscent of a fruity milkshake in terms of both taste and mouthfeel.
