Even though New Zealand is really far away from Germany and you might think that there are hardly any similarities between here and there, there is one thing that unites us: the love of beer. In New Zealand, beer is the most popular alcoholic drink and is just as popular there as it is here. Beer is the common denominator of connoisseurs worldwide and we want to celebrate this global passion with as wide a variety as possible of different breweries from every corner of the world. A new addition to our international selection of the most artistic brewers is Deep Creek Brewing.
The young brewery has set up shop in Silverdale. The city in northern New Zealand lies above Auckland and is surrounded by a number of picturesque beaches. The brewery's founders are Jarred MacLachlan, Paul Brown and Scott Taylor — three beer-loving individuals who came together for a great mission. The path to owning their own brewery started for the friends in Jarred's garage. Whenever they had time, the beer fans met there to put their ideas into tasty and sometimes less tasty beer experiments. They tinkered with styles, experimented with raw materials, developed recipes and improved them until they finally put together a solid repertoire of enjoyable beers. Things took off from there: in 2011, the team made their venture official and registered the brewery under the name Deep Creek Brewing. Brewing was in full swing and the company grew rapidly. To date, Deep Creek Brewing remains one of New Zealand's fastest growing craft breweries, increasing their output every year.
After just a short time, the enthusiastic brewers achieved international fame with their heavenly creations: the beers scored points in renowned competitions and attracted attention with their aroma, character and drinkability. Today, Deep Creek specialties are exported to China. But the threesome make it a point to stay true to their roots: In addition to their thriving business, they run a brewpub in Browns Bay that supplies local fans with freshly tapped beer. On Tap and in World Trade you will find a delicately curated selection of handcrafted craft beers that tastefully reflect the passion, team spirit and enthusiasm of Deep Creek Brewing. A favorite in the range, for example, is the fruity Hazy Pale Ale , which was brewed in collaboration with the Australian brewery Big Shed Brewing .
